NZCMC train mentors in Solomon Islands

  • Submitted on 7 November 2012

The NZ Coaching & Mentoring Centre was invited by the Pacific Leadership Programme to train mentors in the Solomon Islands as part of the Youth in Employment Internship.

The Secretariat of Pacific Communities in Honiara recruited over 100 local mentors for youth interns from the public and private sectors so they would have support through the 6 month scheme.

Sandy Thompson and Fraser McDonald who are specialists in customising learning processes for Pacific learners, ran a very successful training day for 6 groups of mentors based on NZCMC training design and materials.

Evaluations were superb and SPC is hoping to repeat the process in the near future.
